But before we do that, we must salute the #Zepptember rock gods with an appropriate send off from the indomitable Dr. Robert Downey Goulet. Bada bee, badaa BOO!!

Last week we had the incredible honour to perform for newly-weds Keven and Celine on beautiful Saltspring Island. From the boisterous gang performance on Don’t Stop Believing, to the touching version of “Stand By Me” performed by the bridal party (with lyrics they wrote themselves!), to the young girls performing Dancing Queen, there were too many highlights to name.  But the one that really stood out is this moment right here: Keven and Celine taking the stage to perform a duet of “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”.

These moments will be cherished forever, and we can’t express our joy to be a small part of bringing together family and friends in such a fun, meaningful way. Rockaoke weddings are a thing, folks!

Omega Mech - Glowbal Restaurant - Jan 2017
Omega Mech – Glowbal Restaurant – Jan 2017

This weekend we had the distinct pleasure to invite the fine folks at Omega Mechanical on-stage to enjoy the rockstar experience at Vancouver’s world-famous Glowbal Restaurant.

It was the full-meal deal: 4-piece rock band plus our go-to vocal trio of Donna, Danielle and Tiffany. After getting the crowd warmed up with a little Van Morrison mini-set and the all-time QotSA banger “No One Knows”, we brought up our first guest to sing arguably the greatest song of them all: “Sweet Caroline”. That set the tone for another memorable night of Rockaoke Live, which ended with a bang: a blues-jam finale featuring the CEO Brad Hedblom on the skins.

vets-2016-rockin-christmas-partyThis show was a milestone of sorts for us. After learning that Roger’s Pass would be a non-starter for our initial car travel plans, we came up with a solution. We flew into Edmonton and rented our entire backline, plus the sound system at the local Long & McQuade (love those guys!).

Admittedly, It was kind of strange travelling with only a backpack, but we gained valuable insights to the logistics of this crazy road show.

Thanks to VETS Group for throwing a memorable party and rocking out in style!

0 A Very British NYE

nye-cascade_poster_600Jack Daniel’s and The Cascade Room got the party started early on NYE!

Of course we had to pay homage to the unbearable number of British Icons who have past away in recent memory. David Bowie “Let’s Dance” was a fitting close to the first set, while Amy Winehouse got several nods on classics like “Valerie” and “Back to Black” as patrons paid their respects and toasted to the icons.

The Cascade Room’s manager Justin even got up on stage to close out the night with a “Whole Lotta Love” to remember. Amidst a thriving electric atmosphere, he declared that happy hour would be extended!

We got the call to play the beautiful Caulfield Cove Hall in West Vancouver, near the world-famous Lighthouse Park.

With love in the air, we started things off with a few classics before opening the floor for the guests to sing their hearts out, including a too-cute-for-life rendition of “Stayin’ Alive” by the little lady on the left.

Congratulations to the bride and groom, may your love last forever!
